Mixed Media Silks

Such a colourful fish, sparkly and swift in the water.  

Many techniques where layered to create this piece.  Silk fabric carefully painted to capture the trout’s rainbow and iridescence before being stitched to conjure the scales and their shimmer.  The background is quilted and stitched to indicated the water flow before the fish was appliquéd onto the fabric.
