For lovers of spectacular views and sculptures set in nature.  Parkwood Springs is an amazing large green space in the centre of Sheffield.

It has a long varied history from being a deer park in the 1700’s, part of the Duke of Norfolk’s estate from the 1800’s, a defence gun base during the Second World War, host to the now long gone Ski Village, home of Wardsend Cemetery, a housing estate, captured in poetry by the Corn Law poet Elliot and now enjoyed and celebrated by mountain bikers, runners, lantern parades, singers, solstice celebrations and those who find solace amidst the trees and paths.

This sculpture captures the essence of the resident kestrels that soar above and draws the walkers into observing the views across from Walkley, Hillsborough, Stocksbridge and out towards Malin Bridge and Loxley.  An incredible viewpoint.
