Madbirds!
Linocut
These birds are a key part of my evolving repertoire.
The “Madbird” first came about when trying to create a continuous sewing machine stitched line to use in a mandala styled quilted picture. Since then it has merrily become front and centre of my hand drawn and painted cards, quilts, fused glass and prints in one form or another. Every time they have their own personality and conversation going on!
This print is created by carving a Japanese lino block with specialist linocutting tools. Ink is then rolled onto the lino block and hand burnished with a barren to transfer the ink onto the paper. Each print will have natural differences as it is a hands on, one at a time process. Printed using Cranfield relief inks. All signed.
