Blackbirds are special to me as they are curious, alert and always have a sense of purpose  .  So is my love of colour, I can never tire of them. Together they lift my mood!

I had fun piecing this one together while ensuring the rendition of the blackbirds captured their alert curious natures. Created using brightly coloured quilt making fabric off cuts to create the patchwork background, tree and blackbirds.  Design shows five hand appliquéd blackbirds with machine stitch quilted detail effect on a quilted background with a black bound edging.  Trapunto sun and quilted radiating halo effect.
